The Arrhythmias Unit, Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory  uses the latest techniques to diagnose and treat arrhythmias:

– Atrial Fibrillation

– All types of suptraventricular/ventricular cardiac arrhythmias

– Dizzy spells of unknown cause

– Presyncope

– Sudden death screening

– Treatment of sudden death

– Syncope:

Defined as a a sudden and transient loss of consciousness, with no postural tone (falling down if the patient is standing) but with spontaneous recovery, which does not require cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers.

– Supraventricular tachycardia

– Ventricular tachycardia

– Sudden death:

Occurs suddenly, unexpectedly, with little or no clinical manifestations before the event, or with brief onset, within the first 24 hours of an abrupt change in prior clinical status.

– Sudden cardiac death:

Has an identifiable cardiac cause and occurs abruptly, unexpectedly, with the patient demonstrating neither acute myocardial ischemia nor prior manifestations in the 2 hours before the event.
